One of the things I love most about  camping are the campfires! I love gathering around the fire at night in our camp chairs, visiting and roasting marshmallows and believe it or not I love the smell! The only problem is that we only get to go camping once a year! But I want to enjoy that peaceful feeling in our own backyard year-round, so I have been wanting a Copper mission fire pit for quite a while. So when I saw it I instantly fell in love with the Copper Mission Fire Pit from Avant Garden Decor!

Avant Outdoor Garden Copper Mission Fire Pit Review

Copper Mission Fire Pit offers outdoor entertaining, and a camp fire experience.

The Copper Mission Fire Pit has a 100% solid polished copper bowl and comes with a heavy duty spark guard cover to prevent sparks and ash from blowing, a protective vinyl cover for protection from the elements when not in use, and a spark guard removal tool that allows you to safely remove the spark guard during a fire. The copper fire bowl is un-coated which offers a rustic texture. Like any natural material that is left outdoors, the copper finish will be affected by the environment and/or heat from fire. The natural copper finish will develop a beautiful patina creating a weathered appearance. This is one of the reasons why we specifically choose the Copper Fire Pit, as we wanted a fire pit that will blend naturally with other outdoor elements as we work to redecorate our back yard.

The Fire pit came in a much smaller box than I was expecting, and it was rather compact. It was easy to unpack all the pieces, and it was rather logical how to assemble the fire pit we didn't even need the simple and easy to read instructions.

We loved how it came with everything we needed to assemble, we didn't have to find any tools or screws, or well…anything!  And it was very easy for The Husband to put it together!

While putting the fire pit together, the Husband was spouting off all this mechanical engineering lingo about strength and materials that I didn't quite understand. When I asked him to put it into simple terms, he said, "Well, there are all these ways in which we could make this stand more sturdy and the joints more secure, but seeing the weight of the fire pit bowl and the amount of wood it would hold for the fire, the stand is quite adequate and will be strong enough for it's intended purpose." So it's good to know we have an engineer's stamp of approval that the design is efficient for the designed purpose.

The fire pit was a bit shorter than I was expecting, as even my daughter is taller than the fire pit, yet at the same time, when you are sitting around in camping chairs, it is the perfect height, so although it's not exactly what I was expecting, it ended up being exactly what I want in functionality!  And I really love the weather cover that we can put over the fire pit when not in use, as we still have quite a few rain storms in our area, and we want it to be protected from the rain. We also get a lot of wind in our area which blows around a lot of dust, leaves and more. The weather protection cover can keep all that dirt and grim out of our fire pit thus allowing it to be ready for use instantly each time we need it, and not have to clean out a bunch of debris between uses.

It took us about a week after we set up the fire pit before we could actually use it because we got rained out each night we went out to use it. But this last weekend, we finally had a warm and clear night! The fire bowl itself has small holes in the bottom which allows some of the ash to fall out, and also allow for good air flow. It also houses a small rack at the bottom to help support the wood. The Husband had a beautiful small fire going in very little time, and we sat down to enjoy our evening!

The spark guard did a fantastic job of keeping the ash and sparks from flying away, thus allowing for peace of mind that we won't cause any stray fires. It was also nice that we didn't end up with a lot of ash on us after sitting by the fire, which is one of the drawbacks to sitting around an actual campfire.   I also love that it is portable, so we can take it with us after The Husband finishes his schooling and we move to his new job. I also love that I can move it around our yard as we continue to redecorate the yard, it will be easy to move out of the way, or move to a new location based on our decoration at the time!

We had a wonderful evening of sitting around the fire pit, and I'm quite excited for the next evening when we can invite our neighbors over for a relaxing evening of lounging around the fire pit, talking, and possibly even roasting marshmallows!  The Copper Mission fire pit fulfilled my expectations and I'm quite in love with it! It remains solid, and functional. Not a single piece was broken and even after use it still remains absolutely beautiful and I am excited to keep using it in our backyard!

We had a similar set up before we moved and it was so fun! Even better for winter roasting of marshmallows after a fun play in the snow! Thanks for your review.

I have a fire pit.  It's not as nice as yours.  We hardly ever use it as it is just too windy where I live.

We have a fire pit that we don't use often enough. We live at the beach and really need to pull it out to use it more often! I really like the design of yours.

I love that you have a cover for it, we had a cheap one we had that got all grimey because it didn't have a cover.  Yours is a lot prettier than ours!
