My kids and I love carbonated drinks, but I hate the sugar content of regular sodas, so quite often we drink a lot of carbonated juice. But with buying sparkling juice in the store, it is so expensive! You can spend upwards of $3-4 a bottle of sparkling juice and it doesn't last very long! So we decided we were going to experiment and make our own carbonated juice! It worked so well that we showcased it at our #MompactLNO Mom's Tricks and Treat's party!

DIY Carbonated Juice Recipe

Honestly making carbonated juice is easier than you think! I bet you can already think how to make it right? The most popular way is to add soda. But again the problem is the added sugar. So then we tried Tonic water. It worked, but it didn't have a very strong fizz. Finally after trial and error, the best results we've had is when we made Sparkling juice with the Sodastream machine and when we used club soda!

Now not everyone has a SodaStream machine, so I'm going to show you how to make Carbonated Juice using Club Soda!

All you need is a can of concentrated juice and a bottle of club soda! Brands don't matter, as long as it's 100% juice and there is no sugar added in the club soda.

Then simply mix the concentrated juice with three cans full of the club soda. No water needed. It will definitely fizz quite a bit, so you may want to let it settle slightly before pouring.

This was very reminiscent of the sparkling orange juice we used to drink all the time when we lived in Germany! It's natural, low in sugar, and a great substitute for when you are craving something with some fizz!

Try a variety of Carbonated Juice

The great thing about making your own carbonated juice is that you can make any flavor you want! You aren't limited to the few select flavors in the store. Really all you need is any juice concentrate that is 100% juice. We've tried many different flavors such as

  • Kiwi Strawberry
  • Apple cherry
  • Apple passion mango
  • blueberry pomegranate
  • pineapple orange
  • and many others

The kids will love the fun carbonated juice, and you will love the healthier option to soda!

Have you made carbonated juice before? How did it turn out?

What flavor of juice would you most like to turn into carbonated juice?

I love your variations and will try some of them out. I like giving these types of drinks to the grand kids when they come over and de-sugar them a bit. :)

Sparkling Juice? Yes please! My kids would love this! When we eat out, the kids ask for apple juice mixed with Sprite, to get that carbonated juice!

I know! It’s SO simple, yet I never thought to do it until 4 years ago when we moved back from Germany and I really missed our favorite German Drinks, So I figured it out! lol.

Now my husband would love this, he is always mixing drinks together. He likes to put orange juice in everything! I will have to share this with him.

I love making these mixes too. I sometimes use different juices, like let’s say pear nectar with orange juice and sparkling water. I don’t normally use club soda. more like perrier.
