It is no surprise that I love natural, green and organic products. I've been very diligent in trying to provide a chemically free home for my kids. I've changed the cleaners, the bath products, the candles we burn and more! But I never thought about styling products! Really, they make organic hair products for kids? I never realized that this was an option until I stumbled upon Hot Tot.
My need for Children's Salon Quality hair products that work!
Hot Tot produces salon quality organic hair products for kids. That's right, I said salon quality! It's not enough that I get my kids organic hair products, but I want those products to actually work! I'm so tired of getting styling gels for my boys only to have them leave a lot of white flakes in their hair and not hold their hair in place for more than 40 minutes! ( Yes, I've timed them). I love that Hot tot's products are fully organic and safe to use with my children! I don't have to worry about fumes, or toxins, or when Jade gets a hold of the product and decides she wants to do her hair by herself!
Do organic hair products really work?
Normally with regular kids hair care products, Jade's hair is all frizz and sticking up everywhere. She's got a natural curl at the end of her hair, but as you can see, it's not very pretty on it's own.
The first thing I used on Jade's hair was the Conditioning Detangler. It tames knots and tangles and yet is gentle enough for sensitive skin and hair. It has the most amazing scent, and makes combing Jade's hair amazingly easy! Jade even loves this spray, and asks every morning when she gets up for Mommy to spray and comb her hair. She no longer fights me when it comes to combing her hair because we now have a conditioning detangler that works, smooths her hair and easily removes knots.
The Sweet Pea Serum is safe and gentle enough to be used on very delicate skin and hair. It is perfect for new babies and older toddlers alike! It helps manage and prevent skin conditions such as cradle cap and it doesn't leave a greasy feeling behind. I like to use the Sweet Pea Serum to help tame the frizz and bring out her natural curl without weighing it down with heavy styling products. The concept of the serum is similar to a creamy pomade. It will hold a curl for infants and will also define curls without leaving them sticky, crunchy, or stiff on toddlers.
Not only is the serum amazing at taming the frizz and defining Jade's curls, but it lasts! The picture above is Jade's hair conditioned with the conditioning spray and then styled with the sweet pea serum, all at the end of the day! That's right this is after a full day and even a nap! Not bad for her sleeping on her curls right?
The serum also has an amazing scent, although the Conditioning Detangler is still my favorite scented product. But I love how great the serum works and it doesn't leave Jade's hair greasy.
The Structure Whip is a workable cream that adds texture, separation and flexible hold for tots. Yet it still holds quite well! It works amazing for spikey styles, barretts, ponytails, and cowlicks.
I love using the Structure whip on my boys! We recently had new family photos taken, and I was so excited that my Hot Tots products arrived just before. I was able to use this structure whip to finally whip my boy's hair into shape! Their hair is always so unmanageable. When I style their hair it never stays for more than 5 minutes. Then after an hour it looks as though it's never been styled at all except for the left over white flaky residue in their hair.
I really needed the boy's hair to stay styled for more than an hour so it would look just as good in the last pictures taken as it did for the first photos. I was able to finally get J.'s hair to style just like he likes it. And even after 20 minutes it was still just perfect as seen above. No fly-a ways and no frizz!
Even the back stayed put, even with his running around in between shots!
T.'s hair is even more difficult than J.'s hair. It hates styling as he has a lot of cowlick issues. Yet as you can see after a full hour plus running and playing, his hair is still looking great.
It slowly started to get just a few stray hairs here and there after more running. But seeing as by this time all signs of styling would have been gone by now with other styling products, I think we struck gold! And best of all even by the end of the day there was zero white flaky residue, and the hair style lasted until they went to bed that night.
Even on a hot, humid day with lots of running, rolling in the grass and play to keep her happy for the family photo shots, even Jade's curls stayed quite well shaped.
Thanks to Hot Tot organic hair products we were able to have a successful family shoot and I even got some fun shots for myself! Aren't they adorable? Not only do I love Hot Tot but so do my kids. The boys enjoyed me not fussing over their hair every few minutes, I loved how great the hair looked. Jade now loves me playing with her hair and I love the smell, oh and the bonding time with my daughter!

Overpriced and underperformed. Also, the product is misrepresented. They claim its 100% organic, however, go to the hot tot website, click on the product, and look at the ingredients. Do all of the chemicals listed look organic to you? They’re not !
I have a 15 month old that is just starting to get some curly hair in and ive been looking for an organic product to style her hair, I hate to put chemicals on her sweet little head, these products would be perfect for my little P.
