Why is it that every time I take my daughter to wash her hands, every faucet in our home, in public bathrooms across every state we've ever traveled to, and in every home; they all hinder a child's independence and ability to achieve independent hand washing? So, congrats if you have taught your child to go potty by themselves, but you still have to be available to help them wash their hands afterwards because they can't reach the water as it comes out of the faucet? What we really need is a faucet extender on every bathroom we visit, so that our children can experience their independence in something as simple as hand washing!
With all three of my children, I have had the same struggle. It's time to wash their hands after going potty, or before meals, or after playing in the garden. My child can climb onto the stool and by struggling on their tip toes can turn the water on, but the water flows so far back, that my kids still can't reach the water to give a complete hand washing! I still have to prop them up on one knee to give them that extra boost to get over the edge of the counter and reach the water as it flows at the very back of the sink. I've often thought, "Why doesn't someone just create a simple device to push the water forward?" Well, I just found out, someone HAS!
I just recently discovered a brilliant Mom Made invention that does exactly what I've been asking for these last 8 years! The Aqueduck® Faucet Extender is, as I said, brilliant! It is a very simple Faucet Extender, which quickly attaches to almost any faucet. It then forces the water to flow down the duck bill into an easy accessible water fall near the front of the sink making it much easier for little children to wash their hands all on their own!
The Aqueduck® Faucet Extender is made by Peachy, a company for families, by families! Their mission is to strive to create products that help our lives be less difficult for ourselves and our little ones! And I have to say, they have really hit the mark with the Aqueduck® Faucet Extender!
The Aqueduck® Faucet Extender comes nicely packaged with simple to understand instructions. But really, it's so easy to install, you don't even need the instructions! You can tell it was invented by a mom, for moms! Anything to make our daily life easier, without adding a difficult installation!
You simply pinch the blue sides together and it opens the little hole in the back. You then simply slide it onto your faucet and let go!
Now it is firmly in place on the faucet! You turn on the water and now it cascades down the duck bill into a waterfall that is easier for your child to reach! And best of all, it is really easy to remove as well! So I can take this same faucet extender with me when ever we go out too!
Can you just imagine the next visit to Grandma's house? Simply take the Aqueduck® Faucet Extender and put it on the faucet and watch how excited your little one is that they can wash their hands on their own at Grandma's house too! Or if you happen to move a lot, no problem! You can easily take it with you with every move! No hardware, no tools needed for installation!
But really, what can be better than seeing how happy your child is, when they have that independence to wash their hands on their own! Nothing can top that! Plus, my knees sure do appreciate the break from being the extra step stool! The other great thing, is that even with the Aqueduck® Faucet Extender on the faucet, I can still use the sink for my own hand washing. It doesn't make it awkward for adults to use the same sink, and it doesn't get in the way of using the sink either.
Before Jade could never reach the water at all! I'd have to prop her up onto my knee and then she could barely get her hands into the water. Not to mention how mommy would rush the hand washing because my knees can only take so much extra weight before they start aching. Now, Jade can stand on the step stool, solidly on both her feet. I can then use both hands to help ensure she gets the soap over all her hands and help her rinse off.
The Aqueduck® Faucet Extender is
- portable
- easy to use
- light weight
- BPA free
- PVC free
- fits most faucets
- phthalate-free
- Made from long-lasting soft, durable plastic
- dishwasher safe
- Made By a Mom, for MOMS!
Honestly, I couldn't be happier that I finally found the Aqueduck® Faucet Extender! And our little Jade is loving it too! She can now be more independent, and mommy lets her wash her hands more often too, so it really helps promote good hygiene for kids! I can't believe that something so simple has made such a big difference in our day to day living! Every time we take Jade to wash her hands I think "Why didn't I think of that!" It is quite logical! Jade is just thinking how happy she is she gets to play in the water longer. Ha!
The Aqueduck® Faucet Extender comes in Blue, Pink and Grey colors and retails for only $12.99! For me, it is definitely worth every penny! It brings such a smile to my little one's face, it is so simple to use, and it really saves me a lot of pain in the knees trying to help hold my child up while they wash their hands.

We love your video! She is absolutely adorable
We could totally use this at our house. I am tired of lifting the 3 year old on my leg!
What an amazing idea!!! Fantastic invention that every mom should have.
I really need one of these for my 2 year old daughter! Thanks so much for the review.
This is such a cool invention! I wish they had them when my son was littler! He had to stand on the stool on his tip toes to reach the faucet.
We love our aqueduck!! My 18 month old is obsessed with washing her hands but now she can do it with ease wherever we go. I especially love how portable it is for vacations and visits to Grandma’s house (although I think we convinced Grandma to buy one of her own).
