Remember back in March when we introduced you to Howard B Wigglebottom? At the time Howard B Wigglebottom learned about sportmanship. It was a fantastic book that helped my boys learn that winning isn't everything! We loved the Howard B Wigglebottom books and were thrilled with the opportunity to try out a new Howard B Wigglebottom book! This time we selected Howard B Wigglebottom and the Monkey On His Back.

Howard B Wigglebottom

My Boys have loved the Howard B Wigglebottom books, and when the new Howard B Wigglebottom book arrived my kids were cheering and immediately sat down to read the new story!

Howard B Wigglebottom

I was a little nervous that the new Howard B Wigglebottom wouldn't be as enjoyed as the first book we tried. Thankfully I had nothing to worry about! The eight year old said he loves all Howard B Wigglebottom books and asked if we could immediately go buy some more! The 7 year old loves Howard B Wigglebottom and the Monkey on His Back the most, and would also love to have more Howard B Wigglebottom books in our  home library!

Howard B Wigglebottom

Howard B Wigglebottom is created and produced from the We Do Listen Profit Foundation.

The We Do Listen Non Profit Foundation website offers free animated books, songs, posters, lessons, non-violent games and how kids can write their own book. The ten Howard B. Wigglebottom books in the series tackle important life lessons for 4-8 year olds like listening, bullying, sportsmanship, anger management feeling good about themselves, moderation, truth, divorce, peer pressure, belonging, generosity, sportsmanship and attention.

Howard B Wigglebottom is not only loved by kids ages 4-8, but even my 2 year old loved the pictures and sat and let me read to her for a few pages! I'm sure as she gets older she will love the actual story behind the Howard B Wigglebottom books.

Howard B Wigglebottom is also loved by school teachers! The 8  year old's second grade teacher heard that we got a new Howard B Wigglebottom book. Kids do talk. She told me that she loves the Howard B Wigglebottom books and wished the school could get more of them because they have been great teaching aides in her classroom! I was hoping our last book fair would have carried some Howard B Wigglebottom books; as they have an option where you can purchase books to be donated to each teacher's classroom. I really wanted to buy one for this teacher, as she is one of my favorites. Sadly they didn't have any. I will have to see what I can do about getting some myself!

Howard B. Wigglebottom

Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Monkey on his Back has the same brilliant illustrations as the last book we read. I love the bright colors and fun pictures. They really help to depict the story and the struggle that Howard suffers as he continues to lie. As the story progresses the monkey grows bigger and bigger, thus getting heavier and heavier for Howard to carry.

Howard B. Wigglebottom

The dialogue is easy to follow and the words are quite age appropriate for kids ages 4-8. It is easy for my kids to read, and there aren't too many words per page. Thus allowing my kids to easily read the book without feeling overwhelmed that it's "such a long book"!

Howard quickly learns that as he lies, the monkey grows bigger and bigger, thus making daily life harder and he feels horrible. As Howard begins to tell the truth; the monkey begins to shrink and he feels much better!

Howard B. Wigglebottom

What I have really loved about Howard B Wigglebottom books is the suggestions for lessons and reflections section found at the end. It if full of ideas for starting discussions with kids. It helps get the kids thinking and relating the story to their real life. Instead of just being a fun story it is a great learning tool and this section of the books is a valuable tool for a mom like me without any teaching experience.

Overall, we still really love Howard B Wigglebottom and look forward to eventually collecting all of the books in the series. They are a great learning tool for kids ages 4-8. Kids love to read them and they teach valuable lessons to help them as they grow.

I like the Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story. It is wonderful that the We Do Listen Foundation helps children feel good about themselves and teaches lessons about everyday life.

Howard learns to listen because my son who is almost 5 still loves to interrupt and does not listen :) They seems like good books that teach kids why something is important.

I’d like the one about bullying. We teach our students a lot about anti-bullying.
