I've been sitting on this secret for quite a while, just dying to shout it to the rooftops, but now is the time I can finally share, I'm a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!
All through my early years, I was always skinny and even a little underweight no matter what I ate. I could have eaten a horse and still not gained weight! And then it all changed when I had my first baby! All I had to do was just look at a carb filled treat and I'd gain about five pounds! For someone who had never had to deal with weight issues before it was a huge struggle to understand I can't just eat what I want anymore and not have consequences.
I started all kinds of different ways to lose weight, some healthy, others not so healthy. I was struggling so much. It's a mental battle just as much as a physical battle. I would have success in weight loss, until we had another baby and I would gain it all back and more and have to start the entire battle over again.
With our 3rd baby, Jade, I had topped the scales at 197 right before she was born. I've never weighted so much in my entire life. Now most people say, "most of that weight is baby weight and it will come off after the baby is born." Well, not the case with me. Even though I began my pregnancy at 154, after my baby was born, I only lost 7 lbs. I then began the journey of trying to lose this weight again, as it was causing health problems with breathing, knee pain and more.

After Two babies and a struggle to lose 20 lbs.
After three babies, Heaviest I've been.
I managed to get into the lower 180's and then I would plateau. Through all the different options I've tried the last three years, I have discovered one thing. My biggest weakness is my nutrition. Sure I can make healthy meals, but I am horrible at staying with the proper proportions. And even though I make healthy meals, I also have a huge weakness for sweet and salty snacks. I have an obsession with taste! If the food doesn't taste good, I'm not going to eat it. And that has been a major weakness for all my weight loss efforts. Most programs I've tried in the past offer bland and unsatisfying food choices. Or they are so restrictive that although I do well at first, I often fall off and gain it all back.
I recently had a lot of success with losing weight until about 5 weeks ago, when I got sick with the Adenovirus, sinus infection, whooping cough and now a Bronchial Infection. Through these last five weeks, my physical activity has dramatically decreased and my nutrition choices have been horrible. Being sick, I couldn't cook healthy options, so most of the time we selected take out or what was easiest to warm up from the freezer.
The result is that I've gained all that weight back. So I'm quite excited to try a new program that offers me assistance in all the areas I am weak!
- Correct Portion sizes
- Convenient food, easy to prepare
- Easy to take on the go
- Food that TASTES good
- nutritionally balanced
- balanced calories
- Offers a sweet treat once a day.
My Nutrisystem meals arrived this weekend and I was so thrilled! I'm taking my first steps to a better, healthier life! I got them all packaged into the freezer and shelf and I started my first day yesterday! I'm already surprised as some of the food tastes even better than I was imagining that diet food could taste!
I hope you will join me on my journey as I blog each week of my experiences and success with Nutrisystem Nation over the next four months!

Congratulations and good luck. I was always one of those naturally don’t even have to try to be underweight people even after the first 3 babies I was still tall and slim but then I had baby number 4 and it was like something broke in me and I have struggled with my weight up and down and up and down and up and up and up ever since. My dr has validated that I am unusually sensitive to carbs even what would be normally healthy carbs for some reason make me blow up and gain weight super fast like a big hot air balloon. I try SO HARD and it feels like I am beating my head against a wall and dont make hardly any progresss at all. It honestly makes me very sad and feel hopeless but getting back to a healthy bmi is too important for me to ever giveup so I will try again and again until hopefully something works and sticks. sighhh : (
A huge congrats to you! Wow…I don’t know much about the program…I should do some reading…do you have to use their food? Or can you eat your own food? Do they provide access to a nutritionist? How much can you lose?

Yay! Welcome to the NS family!
Congrats!! Your story sounds quite a bit like mine. I’m a fellow blogger who is also starting the Nutrisystem program (started July 19th). I was TINY before I started having kids and that’s when it all went downhill. Now baby #4 is 3 months old and I’m ready to kick this weight and get back in to shape. Looking forward to following your journey!
Awesome! What a great program. Congratulations on becoming a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!
