If you have been looking for more amazing Cloth diapers, you need to look no further than the Lotus Bumz Cloth Diaper! I love all my cloth diapers, and I can tell you the Lotus Bumz cloth diaper fits very nicely with all my favorites! Lotus Bumz are affordable cloth diapers, that are quite adorable!
Lotus Bumz diapers is a WAHM-operated business located in the U.S.A and the Lotus Bumz diapers are fairly made in China. I got to try out one of the Lotus Bumz 2.0, and I must say I love it and so does Jade! If you have been on the fence about switching to cloth diapers, maybe the adorable patterns of the Lotus Bumz will change your mind!
The features of the Lotus Bumz 2.0 diapers is quite standard to the usual pocket one size diaper! It has the double rows of snaps to give the best fit, leg gussets to hold in leaks, the typical PUL layer to prevent leaks, an extra pocket flap to cover the insert, and a large pocket opening for easy stuffing.
Now, normally I wouldn't want a blue diaper like this for my daughter, because blue is quite often related to boys, but with the summer and the 4th of July coming up, I instantly fell in love with this Bluzy Stars diaper! I will be dearly tempted to not cover up this diaper on that day! The outside is a very soft and stretchable fabric and is very smooth on the skin!
The inside of this diaper is a microfleece lining which is very soft and hasn't irritated by Jade's skin once!
The sides which pull over and snap on the front also have the same microfleece lining, yet what I love about these diapers is that second snap below the top row of double snaps! Why do I love this feature so much? Because it helps the diaper fit my daughter more accurately, and it ensures that the sides (wings) stay in place so she doesn't have the edges sneaking out of the diaper as she moves around with her usual active toddler self. I've found the diapers without this third snap on the wings end up shifting the fit while Jade wears the diaper, which leads to a less accurate fit and sometimes even leaks. So I love this third snap feature!
The pocket is quite large, with an elastic back to ensure a proper fit. Due to the larger pocket opening, it is quite simple to stuff the diapers. This is one of the easiest diapers to stuff out of all that we own. And the extra flap to cover the insert works wonders at keeping the insert in place.
The Lotus Bumz diapers fit Jade quite nicely, I love how snug the leg gussets are around her legs, so that even when she is crouching and playing, there are no gaps to allow leaks! And they also do not leave any marks on her unless I accidentily put the diaper on too tight.
The Lotus Bumz Diaper also has a high back coverage, but also has a more narrow behind. Most of the other diapers cover a wider area of Jade's behind, but the Lotus Bumz diapers are a bit more narrow. Believe it or not, this actually allows Jade's pants to fit better, as usually cloth diapers are more "chunky" than disposable diapers, so usually you have to buy larger pants. But with the lotus Bumz diapers, I found that the pants Jade has actually fit her more loosely than when she wears her other cloth diapers. Be this a pro or a con; well, that decision lies with you. For me it doesn't bother me any, yet I don't see it as a must have feature. I merely found it interesting.
The Lotus Bumz Diaper also features a higher leg cover. What I mean by that is that it has a higher cut on the thigh. You can see the marks on Jade's legs where the diaper she was wearing just before this one would sit on her leg. These marks were made from a diaper we usually don't use except on laundry day due to leaving those marks. It isn't painful to her, but I just don't like marks on my duaghter. The marks show where most of her diapers cover and fit her. So you can see the difference in the height of the cut for the leg on the Lotus Bumz. Now some may see this as a negative feature, but I actually quite liked this difference! It allowed Jade more freedom in her movements. She was able to crouch lower, take wider strides and it was easier for her to lift her leg high when climbing. The diaper cut didn't hinder her movements in any way!
Overall, we quite love the Lotus Bumz diapers! They have a few unique features that we have not seen on other pocket diapers and they fit Jade well. Jade has worn this diaper 4 or more times since we've received it, and it has never leaked on us, and after all those washings, it still looks just as new! The micro-fleece lining is still smooth, and the snaps are still very secure in place! This diaper will most likely last quite a while and a lot longer than the very first cloth diapers we ever used.
