When you go through the battle of losing weight you learn quickly how important it is to reward yourself when you reach important milestones! Set yourself goals and when you reach them you need to give yourself a reward. Without a reward system it is far too easy to get discouraged and lose track of the progress you have made and give up. Nutrisystem makes it easy to reward yourself when you reach memorable milestones!

Nutrisystem

Rewarding yourself for weight loss with Nutrisystem.

Nutrisystem understands the important of rewarding yourself when you reach important milestones. For every 10 pounds you lose you are rewarded with an adorable Nutribear! These fun plush toys remind yourself why you are working so hard, how far you have come and encourage you to keep going!

Nutrisystem week 8, The Importance of Rewards #NSNation #Spon

My first Nutribear just arrived this week! I must say it came at a great time! As you know, last week was a difficult week for me staying on plan. So when my Nutribear arrived it helped me to remember just how far I have come. I've lost over 10 pounds! That is something to celebrate and I hadn't taken the time to do that yet.

This fun little bear may not be elaborate or cost a lot of money but it definitely brightened my day. It helped me to stay on track and do better this week. It helped encourage me to get up and get moving more often! And really, isn't it cute?

I also took the time to go to the store and reward myself for all the hard work I've put in. I got myself some new nail polish and when I got home I took some time to sit down and create a reward chart so I will have something to look forward to and to work for at each milestone.

I will now be rewarding myself at every five pounds I lose with something small like a new nail polish color, or maybe a new eye shadow color. Or maybe even some new earrings. I love earrings. Just something that helps me feel amazing and help emphasize the new life I am creating for myself. At each new Nutribear milestone I reach I will reward myself with a new article of clothing to help lavish the new me I'm creating!

One thing that we all must remember is to never use food as a reward! When we associate food as the reward itself, then we slowly work our way back to where we are trying to get away from. There will always be special occasions or accomplishments that need rewarding. When we can find healthier ways to reward ourselves without food our lives become more balanced and healthier.

For now my fun Nutribear is sitting on our bookshelf next to some favorite family photos. I walk past this shelf multiple times a day. It is what I see when I sit on my couch. It is out in the open where I can see it often to remind myself how far I've come and where I don't want to return! I can keep moving forward and having a visual reminder is a great motivational help!

Nutrisystem weight in results for yet another week.

This last week has been a little difficult. Not necessarily with eating off plan but with my own body. Ever since I had my gallbladder removed 7 years ago, every now and then my body just boycotts me. I end up retaining a lot of water, and my stomach struggles digesting even the most simple and healthy foods. So although I did well getting back on the program, I did not have a good week for weight loss.

The good news however is that usually as long as I continue to drink a lot of water, my body eventually works through it and I return to normal in a few days to a week. So next week should definitely be better!

Starting weight: 185.2
Week 1: 179.4
Week 2: 176.8
Week 3: 176.8
Week 4: 174.8
Week 5: 172.0
Week 6: 172.0

Week 7: 174.0

So I have gained two pounds this week. But I didn't gain any inches, so I think it's mostly water retention. I'll up my water in take this week and get my body functioning well this week and hopefully we will see a big drop in the numbers next week.

How do you reward yourself for milestones when you lose weight?

I want to thank you  all for all your amazing support, comments ( I LOVE the comments!) and encouragement! I love sharing my journey with you and I wish you all the best luck on your journeys as well!

Hang in there…I was on Nutrisystem for a while and some weeks I didn’t lose, or I gained a pound or two. It can be frustrating, but you have a good attitude and you’re on the right track. You will make great strides, I am sure…just keep your eyes on the prize!

I would always encourage/motivate myself by thinking that if I met a goal (which might not be losing X pounds in a week, but not cheating all week…or drinking ALL my water every day, or exercising X times per week, etc.), I would get a pedicure or buy myself something that I wanted. It helped keep me motivated toward a long-term goal!

I love the reward system, but I do gravitate to rewarding myself with ice cream. Yeah, I know totally not the right reward. I am working on something better

Many congrats on your weight loss, I love the reward system you’re putting together for yourself! That’s something that would really work for me as I love beauty stuff, nail polish, etc. I have been wanting to lose weight for a long time just haven’t been motivated enough to get back into it. Thanks for this inspiring post!

That is just fantastic! I know I’m guilty of using food as a reward for sure, even a reward for weight loss which is ridiculous!

Wow, I see a lot of people on NutriSystem…..I may have to look into it. Is it hard to follow or expensive? I don’t need to lose a lot of weight, but it just seems impossible to get off the 10 lbs I want to get off.

Congrats on your first bear!! I hope to get mine in the next couple weeks. Only 3.4 lbs away! I don’t have any rewards for milestones at the moment, but I should probably think about them and set some up. It would give me something wonderful to look forward to/work toward!
