What women doesn't love a good castle? I was feeling a bit nostalgic this week and I went and found some old photos of our time living in Germany and the Castles we visited. I may have never visited Disneyland, but I can claim that I've been to the original Sleeping Beauty's Castle or correctly named Neuschwanstein Castle. We also had the opportunity to visit King Ludwig II's other famous castles; Linderhof and Hohenschwangau. It was such an amazing experience, and I long to visit again. Except hopefully next time we can go in warmer months.

It may have been the dead of winter, but the sites were still extraordinary! I was able to visit the surrounding locations of  Garmisch-Partenkirchen  and other nearby towns twice in the time we lived in Germany. Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone that is able to travel abroad to Germany!

Don't forget to link up your own Wordless Wednesday post, and hop around to all the others listed. We love comments too; so feel free to leave us a note! I do read them!  ;)

Have you ever wanted to visit Germany?

What Castle is your favorite?

If you could visit any Castle in the world, which would you visit?

Stunning sights! Are these castles currently occupied? Do they give tours or rent rooms, or can you only ever see them from the outside?

They do give tours. They are not currently occupied that I am aware of. Most Castles in Germany are set up mostly as tour attractions. You can go into selected areas and the tours are all guided.

I have been through Germany only as an airport layover stop. My husband loves German food and wants to go for that! I like your pictures and would love to go for that! LOL

My favorite castle to date is Bothwell in Scotland. It’s abandoned and falling apart, but friends of ours used it for their playground when they were little, so visiting it was a really cool experience for us.

Beautiful! The “Sleeping Beauty” Castle looks unreal framed by the snow. Definitely something straight out of a fairy tale!

I went to Germany about 15 years ago, LOVED everything about it. Especially the castles and the history in general. Very beautiful country, I hope to go back one day!
