Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!

Our Spotlight photos are of the 7 year old's birthday cake!

His request: A Star Wars Hoth Cake! His wish is my command…well, to the best of my limited cake decorating abilities.

I must say it didn't turn out too bad.

That cake is awesome! It’s just a matter of time before Star Wars becomes THE thing in our house, if my husband has anything to do with it. My boys are just 4 and 2 now, so it’s still Elmo and Thomas and all that. Thanks for sharing!

my husband had both our boys converted to Star Wars ALL the way when they were only 2! I had no hope of endearing them to anything else. lol.

Quite fun! My second son is crazy for Star Wars. Every year, we make food from our Star Wars cookbook for his birthday celebration! We’ve made personal-sized R2D2 cupcakes, Yoda (very green and messy process), and some simple sheet cakes with fight scenes (using our Star Wars characters). Quite fun!!!

It was actually rather easy to do too! regular rectangle cake, put on those cake decorating plates from the walmart baking section, then I frosted it with the cream cheese frosting. Added small powdered doughnuts broken into 2 for the snow mounds, 2 ding dongs for the “base”. 1 more broken doughnut for decor on the base, coconut for the “snow”. I used the already made cans of colored frosting for the blue edging (it comes in a can with a special tip already) and a sparkling frosting bottle for the bright green, which I wrote with. And then you add the toys and candles. :) Good luck!

My son is still geeking out about how cool his cake was. lol. Guess I did ok.
