This weekend I created one of my absolute favorite meals; a creamy bacon and potato soup and a mandarin orange and bacon spinach salad. The salad called for sugared almond slices, but I couldn't find any in the stores. I love sugared almond slices, and I couldn't do without, so I went on a search and learned how to make sugared almond slices. Enjoy!

Sugared Almond Slices Recipe

Making sugared almond slices are actually quite simple! A lot easier than you would think. It only calls for two ingredients: Almond slices and sugar. That is it! I don't know about you, but I am definitely loving this recipe so far. You will want:

  • 1/2 Cup Almond slices
  • 2-3 Tablespoons sugar

I used 3 tablespoons of sugar in our batch, and while it turned out great, I think I could have used a little less sugar and have an even better turn out.

Place ingredients into a pan on medium heat. As the sugar melts from the heat it will create a sugar coating on the almond slices. Continue stirring until the almonds are lightly brown. Then remove from heat and allow to cool.

Can you believe just how simple it is to make sugared almond slices? I had no idea it was really that easy! Now you can add your own sugared almonds to yogurt, ice cream toppings, or even my favorite; gourmet salads!

Even better, you can place the left overs in an air tight container and save them for future use! They are also great just for a sweet snack.

Have you ever enjoyed Sugared almond slices before?

What is your favorite way to enjoy sugared almond slices?

Now that you know just how simple it is to make them, do you think you'll try making sugared almond slices?

These sound great! How long do you think they’d last in a container?

oh that is a touch question. Ours never lasted more than a day. lol. I think if it’s an air tight container, probably a week or two. But I’m just guessing.
